For most college students, Halloween is a party night where they dress up and go out with friends to bars and clubs, but this year, the Thompson Rivers Wolf Pack women’s and men’s teams have something more important on their hands before they can celebrate- their home opener.

At 5:30 p.m. is when it all starts on October 31st, the women’s Wolfpack team will be taking on this is Saskatchewan Huskies, and what looks to be a close match. I got the chance to be able to talk with Tru middle blocker Maria Dancheva, who is a student here studying computer science from Bulgaria. I was able to give me her insights and opinions before the game. “ I believe it will be a close game,” she told me, confident that both teams are strong in their skills and it’s going to be a competitive night.

Despite women’s volleyball often bringing in Fever fans than the main games Wolfpack Association wanted to do something to bring more people into the seats, and since it’s Halloween, they wanted to bring some of that excitement into the gym.  Between sets, fans will be able to take part in a Halloween costume contest with prizes for the best outfits.

If you’re going out to the bars or clubs tonight, everybody knows that you can’t get in until very late, so you might as well come and support your school on an important Friday night
